About Me

My name is Jacqui Chapman. I am a professional stylist with nearly 20 years of experience in the creative and publishing industries in Sydney, Auckland and London, I started Ministry of Style in 2010. I currently live in Auckland City.

Before starting my own company, I worked as a picture editor in London providing imagery for some of the top magazines of the era, returning to New Zealand I worked as stylist and picture editor for Sunday – the insert magazine in Sunday Star-Times. During this time I styled many of the covers and feature spreads and worked closely with the fashion editor to find great images to accompany fashion stories.

I left Sunday to have my son, and my professional life extended into my personal life, with friends asking for advice on dressing and shopping. After seeing the positive impact my advice had on a wide range of people, I decided to set up Ministry of Style.

I have been buying fashion magazines since I was 7 years old, and I have been collecting vintage clothing since I was 14. I love picking out new trends and inspirations from leading international fashion platforms and sourcing seasonal and sustainable must-haves from vintage stores, designer recycle and op-shops around the country. I am also an avid sewer making my own clothes and re-working pieces for a contemporary look.

This has honed my styling ability – I bring together high-end, high-street and vintage to create modern and affordable distinctive looks.

I love to dress and style people, no matter what their background or budget. Helping to make a positive difference to the way someone feels about themselves is the best part of what I do. I also offer a high-fashion magazine-style digital Look Book, the first of its kind in New Zealand and according to client feedback, highly recommended.

I am relaxed and understanding and have been many different sizes myself. I want to ultimately make this a fun and informative experience for you, one that leaves you feeling confident about your new style.

I am available for both personal and editorial styling. See my work samples HERE.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions.
