The best wardrobe Ideas for Winter

You probably have a wardrobe full of clothes and nothing to wear? Or maybe it’s the opposite.  Here are some tips from Jacqui, Personal Stylist at Ministry of Style to help you on the way to the perfect fashion wardrobe for the upcoming Autumn/Winter season: Staple pieces are where you start, good jeans,  even two pairs this season, a skinny and maybe try a baggy or flared, black flattering pants, an in season jacket or blazer, in season skirt (pencil, midi length or transparent to wear over tights. Add blouses, shirts, t-shirts, and tops front of closet so that you can mix and match with the above pieces, vintage or new.  Put your current summer pieces in another part of your closet as you can still use them for inter seasonal dressing – which just means adding more layers.

Styling Tips

Always have a few vests handy for layering (black, navy and white). Longer in length are best for hiding and smoothing around the tummy area and keeping you warm. Choose solid colours for your staples (navy, black, white) and add some prints and brighter colour to your blouses, tops, skirts.

Winter Accessories

Invest in a  couple of pairs of shoes, a high heel or mid heel in black or a rock n roll pair of boots. I hear the long boot is coming back but I’m still running with the ankle boot, a great biker boot never goes out of fashion. Great with jeans, skirts and dresses. Pick a few current fashion accessories, tan and black belts, opaque or diamond patterned tights, costume necklaces, bangles, and maybe a couple of vintage scarves to add some personality. Then to top it off a couple of stand out pieces that say who you are: a leather jacket, a unique handbag, a bohemian fringed scarf or bold dress, whatever takes your fancy. modainpellebikerboots-3 images Blazer-combined20112-with-leggings-by-Kate-Moss-How-to-Wear-the-Blazer-For-Women-Trend-2012-2013 (3)
